Bluegrass Music. is the reason that we all are here on this Web Site. We feed voraciously on information regarding the music that we all love. We ponder over it all of the time. There is NO WAY that we can listen to this music and be a competent "Day Job" performer simultaneously (we have tried it). We at String Fever Bluegrass Band encourage your thoughts and feelings about this powerful passion that we all have. You are looking at a small part of what and how we feel about this great musical style. Please Email us with your Bluegrass Music wisdom as we would like to hear what YOU have to say!

  I Love Bluegrass Music Because.......

From : shepardgirl@earthlink.net    I Love Bluegrass Music Because....... Bluegrass music is the closest one can come to real life experiences or as real life as we can be with society as it now is.  Bluegrass is the best there is!  When the 'old timers' pass away, I'm afraid that so will such a beautiful style of music.  We need to encourage our younger generation to really listen and try to understand what BLUEGRASS is all about

From : bluegrassrules@uswest.net    I Love Bluegrass Music Because....... Bluegrass is the soul of country music. It's the most beautiful sound I ever heard! Matt Thompson - mandolinist for Monroe Crossing

From : kdugan@iaxs.net    I Love Bluegrass Music Because....... It has more drive than rock-n-roll, more heart than country, more pain than the blues, more banjos than jazz, more hop than hip hop, more sass than swing... besides who else will feed the mosquitoes? Ken Dugan - President of a local old time and related music organization

From : dobro2222@earthlink.net    I Love Bluegrass Music Because....... Bluegrass Music is loved all over the world. It is amazing this Hill Country Music of America is appreciated world wide, by all classes of people. This shows how artistic Bluegrass Music is. It is Honest Music, with no pretensions. Bluegrass Expresses the best that Humankind has to offer when it comes to honesty and sincerity in humans' feelings for each other. I think it is great that we can communicate with others who love the same kind of music. And it's great to be able to put our music on the web for all to hear. We live in a wonderful age where communications brings us together in many ways. I'm an old Bluegrass fan from as far back as when it was not called Bluegrass. Bill Monroe, Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs and many more were some that I listened to in the old days. It was just real hill country music back in the early days. Now the City Boys love it too, along with all the College People, including College Professors. It's great music. I have been playing guitar since I was 18. Started playing for money when I was 19. My Dad brought home a cheap Sears guitar and once I got it I my hands, I couldn't let go. Lee in Denver (Dorsey Rose)

From : mfridgen@hastings.k12.mn.us    I Love Bluegrass Music Because....... ugly people can excel at it!  Really, I have a whole theory about this - I have a degree in music from the U of MN - so I know a little of what I'm speaking of.  Pop music is not legit because you have to be good looking in order to succeed.  Country music used to be legit - but not now.  Have you seen CMT lately?  Everyone is great looking with a good body.  In my estimation the only true modern musical art form is Bluegrass; looks mean nothing in Bluegrass.  Classical music (including Opera) has become way too commercialized.  Broadway is full of scantily clad dancers who spend more time at the Gym than in the rehearsal room.  Bluegrass is the last legit music art form!          P.S.  I came across your work while attending a workshop on the new Share the Music Curriculum.  I fell in love with "Walk by the River."  Can I get the CD in any stores?  Michael Fridgen – Music Educator at Hastings, MN

From : dfoster@westriv.com    I Love Bluegrass Music Because....... of the acoustic - string sound emphasis.  As a guitar and mandolin player I lean towards instrumentals, flat picking, and even some old time stylings.  What can be more potent and present than an HD-28 dreadnot punching out a lead!  F style Gibson with a rich creamy chop, stand up bass, a mellow banjo, twin fiddle harmony.  Yum - you could eat it with a spoon.  I'm quitting my day job tomorrow...well maybe not.  I need to buy new strings.  Dan Foster Mando & Guitar for Cottonwood  http://www.cottonwoodbluegrass.com
